The definition for a hate incident is any incident which is perceived by the victim or any other person as being motivated by prejudice or hate on the grounds of race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religious belief or similar philosophical belief, sexual orientation, or against disabled people.
Reporting hate incidents
Hate incidents can be reported in confidence:

to the Police, by calling 999 if the crime is in progress;

to the Police Non-Emergency Number on 0845 6060606 if the crime has already happened;

to the Stop Hate Line on 0800 138 1625 at any time of day or night;

at a Hate Incident Reporting Centre.
